Read More	(KS) Belleville Telescope Jan. 11, 1973 Desmond Frank (Jimmy) James, eldest son of Perry L. and Sophronia James was born August 15, 1914 at Muskogee, Okla., and died on January 1, 1973 at his home in Scandia at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 17 days. At an early age he moved with his family to Eudora, Ark., where he grew to manhood. He was baptized in the Christian church, and was educated in the Eudora Public Schools. He furthered his education at Coyne Radio and Signal Corps School in Chicago, Ill., while in the service of his county during World War II. He served in 7 campaigns with the 8th Air Force and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and a Presidential Citation. He received his Honorable Discharge on August 21, 1945. He was married October 8, 1943 to Rosie Anna Stierwalt. To this union was born four daughters and one son. He has made his home in Kansas for the past 22 years, and in Scandia the past three years, being employed by Republic County as a road patrol operator. Mr. James was a member of William Fleming Post No. 345 American Legion of Cuba and Baker-Holmes V.F.W. post at Belleville. His parents, two sister, his daughter, Joyce and son-in-law, Jerry Manley, grandson, Terry Patterson, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and son, Jimmy of the home; three daughters: Barbara and husband Harry Patterson, Donna and husband Marion Svoboda, Merry Jo and husband Billy Hansen; five brothers: Perry and wife Ester of Belleville, Durwood and wife Dorothy, Douglas and wife Selma, Dean and wife Karen, Jerry Wayne and wife Annett all of Pine Bluff, Ark.; three sisters: Pat and husband Ben Pierce, Perry Lee and husband Erwin Porter both of Pine Bluff, and Billie Jean and husband Aubrey Granger of Deshler, Nebr., six grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr.James was 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 1973 at the Scandia United Methodist church with the Reverend Lyle Miller officiating. Interment was in Hubbell cemetery with graveside Post No. 3435 American Legion of Cuba.
