Read More	VOTIPKA, DOLORES KATHRYN — Dolores Kathryn Barbur was born to James B. Barbur and Mary Louise Volz Barbur on April 25, 1920, at Exeter, and passed away on April 25, 1984, at the Fillmore county Hospital in Geneva at the age of 64 years. She was one of four children in the family. She spent most of her life in the Geneva and rural Fairmont area, except for about six years in Corvallis, Ore. As a small child, she moved with her parents to Lincoln where they spent two years. The family then moved to Geneva in 1925, where she grew up and graduated from the Geneva high School. Dolores was married to Dale E. White of Fairmont on October 15, 1940, and to the, three children were born. Dale passed away and after his death, she and her three small children came to Geneva to make their home. On October 13, 1957, Dolores married John A. Votipka and moved to a new home John had built in the rural Fairmont area. To this union one daughter was born. Dolores was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva, the Eastern Star and the VFW Auxiliary. In the family tradition, Dolores inherited the love of flowers and the wonder of the greatness of nature in trees and birds and “all things green.” Her family wishes to share with you all the happy and sad times in our lives, along with the joys and sorrows in your lives. The suddenness of her passing leaves her family without words. Dolores always shared with her family and with yours the gift of compassion and caring. Her love for her husband and pride and joy in her loving children were a large part of her life. She most dearly loved her tree granddaughters and enjoyed them to the utmost. Truly, she was a master in the field of floral design. Love and perfection in this art were most evident to all who knew and touched her life. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Dale, and by a sister-in-law, Sharon Barbur. She is survived by her husband, John A. Votipka of rural Fairmont; two sons, Gary and wife Kathy of Omaha, Jim and his wife Karen of Geneva; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Deborah) Hoarty of Grafton and Annie Votipka of Lincoln; two brothers, James V. Barbur and wife Daisy of Eastlake, Ohio, and Charles E. Barbur of Geneva; one sister, Mrs. Sheldon (Mary) Johnson of Geneva; and by three granddaughters, Katie, Elly and Julie Hoarty of Grafton. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva on Saturday, April 23, with the Rev. Charles G. Schepel officiating. Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Curtis Prater who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Peace in the Valley.” Pallbearers were Harlan Domeier, Douglas Gergen, Orville Hafer, Tom Novak, Fred Nunns Sr., and Willard Mussman.
