She passed away on October 23, 2008 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 29 days. Donna grew up on the farm and attended school in Superior graduating from Superior High School with the class of 1947. Donna grew up on the farm and attended school in Superior graduating from Superior High School with the class of 1947. She was united in marriage to Donald Delphos Shellhase on August 19, 1947 in Mankato, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children. Donna lived her life in Superior. She enjoyed camping, her and Delphos would camp in many places, especially Lovewell Lake and sometimes all summer long. She liked to play cards a lot, especially pitch, and euker. She bowled on leagues for many years. Her home was always open for everybody, especially on Sundays in which she would share the day with lots of family and friends. Donna worked at the Superior High School in the kitchen and also Mr. D's as a cook. She was a member of the Tops Club, Superior American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary, and was very active in each organization. Preceding her in death were her parents; six brothers: Raymond, Leo, Willis, Clifford, Infant Brothers, Oliver and Wendell and one sister Arcele Reiman. Survivors include her husband, Delphos of Superior, Nebraska; sons, Charles Shellhase and wife Sherylin of Fairbury, Nebraska, Donald Shellhase and wife Lillie of Geneva, Nebraska and Keith Shellhase and wife Joan of Ord, Nebraska; extended family Larry and Beverly Beavers of Superior, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Dustin Shellhase and wife Debbie, Olivia Shellhase and Roger, Christen Shellhase and wife Brandee, Hunter Shellhase and wife Kren, Megan Shellhase, Matthew Shellhase and Andi Jo Shellhase; four great-grandchildren; Jamie, Nic, Taylor, and Georgia; and one great-great- grandchild, Darius; and two sisters: Beverly Hart and Patty Winfree both of Truth and Consequences, New Mexico; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating. Music was "Amazing Grace," "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," and "The Lord's Prayer," with Alicia Ferguson as soloist and Carlita Erickson as organist. Pallbearers were Tom Johnson, Steve Hiatt, Earl Studer, Kenny Rempe, Kelly Baker, and Gary Holling. Honorary Pallbearers were all of her nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska. Memorials may go in care of the family.
