He passed away Monday, October 5, 1998, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years and 9 days. He attended a rural school in Nuckolls County. September 9, 1939, in Mankato, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Inez Irene Harvey. They lived in Minatare and Superior, Nebraska, before moving to Des Moines, Iowa. Read More	Raymond LeRoy Snavely, son of Jesse and Frances Louise (Baumbach) Snavely, was born September 26, 1917, near Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away Monday, October 5, 1998, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years and 9 days. He attended a rural school in Nuckolls County. September 9, 1939, in Mankato, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Inez Irene Harvey. They lived in Minatare and Superior, Nebraska, before moving to Des Moines, Iowa. There Raymond worked at the Farmers Union and Armor Plant. They later returned to Superior where he worked at Farmers Union Creamery, Robinson's Conoco, Coca-Cola Bottlers and Alexander Motors, Inc. Raymond was a member of Eagles Lodge #3101 of Superior. He loved to play on shuffleboard and softball teams. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Inez, on November 25, 1993; an infant son, Michael; and four brothers, Oliver, Wendell, Leo and Willis. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Grisham and her husband Jim, and Janice Bussard, all of Superior, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one brother, Clifford Snavely of Superior, Nebraska; four sisters, Donna June Shellhase and her husband Delphos of Superior, Nebraska, Beverly Slusher of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Patty Lou Winfree of Williamsburg, New Mexico, and Arcele Reiman of Superior, Nebraska; one sister-in-law, Ethel Snavely of Tacoma, Washington; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were Friday, October 9, 1998, at 2 p.m. at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastors Rod Thelander and Jon Albrect officiating. Music was "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "The Old Rugged Cross" with Carol Shambaugh as soloist and Carlita Price as organist. Pallbearers were Craig Grisham, Ken Thelander, Barney Freitag, Don Shellhase, Keith Shellhase and Larry Snavely. Interment was in Nelson Cemetery.
