Description	:	Elmore was a confirmed bachelor, medium build with soft red hair. He was originally sent to school by his Uncle Elmore, for whom he had been named and with whom he lived in Chester, SC. He attended the Oldfield School, also known as Kell's Schoolhouse, or the Shurley School, and Carolina Academy. Read More	Elmore was a confirmed bachelor, medium build with soft red hair. He was originally sent to school by his Uncle Elmore, for whom he had been named and with whom he lived in Chester, SC. While attending Davidson College in 1887, he was nicknamed "Little Caesar", as his older brother Dick was already known as "Big Caesar." Elmore finished his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia on 26 June 1889, and received his first medical degree at Bellevue Hospital Medical College on 10 March 1890. He interned at the Work House & Alma House Hospital for twelve months as a Junior Assistant, then Senior Assistant and eventually House Surgeon on 1 April 1891. Having finished his internship, Elmore was licensed to practice medicine by the City and County of New York on 10 July 1891. On 18 April 1895, Elmore received a degree from the University of Unter den Linden Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin, Germany, (now, Humboldt University) only to return home to Chester, SC to practice. Elmore suffered several health issues that led him to Arkansas, and there was licensed by the City of Pulaski, Arkansas on 1 May 1899. In 1901, he returned to Chester, SC as a Specialist in Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat. There he again lived with his Uncle Elmore and practiced in Chester, SC until his death on 30 October 1903 from liver cancer. Elmore was 37 years old. Contributor: Duke Lineberry (48612447)
