Description	:	OBITUARY - Earl Eugene Harold, son of Mr. Arno Stickfort and his wife Emma Theodor Stickfort, was born on his parents farm in Garnavillo Township, Clayton County, Iowa, on May 10, 1919. He became a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism which was administered on July 6, 1919, by the Rev. K. Wm. Braun, pastor of The St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, Iowa. Read More	OBITUARY - Earl Eugene Harold, son of Mr. Arno Stickfort and his wife Emma Theodor Stickfort, was born on his parents farm in Garnavillo Township, Clayton County, Iowa, on May 10, 1919. He became a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism which was administered on July 6, 1919, by the Rev. K. Wm. Braun, pastor of The St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, Iowa. He was confirmed in the Luterhan Christian Faith in the church of his baptism on Palm Sunday, March 25, 1934, by Pastor M. J. Harder. He remained a Communicant member of this congregation until his death. During his membership he served on the Church Council and various church committees. On January 16, 1945, Mr. Stickfort and Miss Betty Frye were united in holy matrimony in The St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, Iowa, by Pastor Victor Hackbarth. Their marriage was blessed with six children; namely, Earl Jr., Gregory, Connie, Crystal, Stuart, and Kim. Following his marriage, Mr. Stickfort lived, worked and made a home for his family on their farm just east of Garnavillo, Iowa. Mr. Stickfort served at least one term on the board of directors of the Garnavillo Cooperative Creamery. Following a long and debilitating illness, Mr. Stickfort was called to rest by our Heavenly Father at 2:30 o'clock, Thursday morning, February 27, 1986. He thus attained the age of 66 years, 9 months, and 17 days. His death took place at the Finely Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. Stickfort was preceded in death by a sister (Mary who died in infancy). He leaves to mourn his departure; his wife (Mrs. Betty Stickfort of Garnavillo); three sons (Earl Jr., Gregory, & Stuart all of Garnavillo); three daughters (Mrs. Guy-Connie--Stumpf of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Gerald--Crystal--Kessler, and Mrs. John--Kim--Berns of Garnavillo); six sisters (Mrs. Alvin Terveen of Emery, S. Dakota, Mrs. Leona Schroeder of Garnavillo, Mrs. Verdis Schlake of Luana, Mrs. Arlyn Hempeler of Garnavillo, Mrs. Virgil Niehaus of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Verni Blume of Garnavillo); ten grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by The Rev. L.C. Urlaub, Pastor of The St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 1, 1986 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the City Cemetery of Garnavillo, Iowa.
