Edna Kopren was born Dec. 17, 1909 to Conrad and Catherine (Rassel) Schecher at Bison, SD. She attended grade school in the Lone Tree Township and graduated from Bison High School with the class of 1929. She attended Aberdeen Normal College to obtain her teaching degree. Edna married Oscar Kopren on Dec. 26, 1931 at Strool, SD. She taught school for four years and was employed at the Courthouse for 31 years in the Perkins County Auditor's Office. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the light of the life. Edna was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Grateful for having shared her life are one daughter and son-in-law Irwin and Betty Jean Tescher; one granddaughter and her husband, Melody and Doug Hamilton; one grandson, Rollie Tescher; four great-grandchildren, Dustin and Sara Hamilton, and Andrew and Caitlin Tescher, one brother-in-law and his wife, Carvel and Julia Kopren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar in 1975, three sisters Mrs. Louise Dailey, Mrs. Rosa Reinoehl and Mrs. Lilly Feldkemp and two brothers William and Ralph Schecher.
