Read More	Edna parents are linked to her, as is her husband. As a young child on her parents farm, outside of Mountain Grove, Wright, Missouri. She remembered their log cabin with all the farm animals, the orchard, spring pond and the well her father dug. Also the siblings who were born there, and that they all went to Sunday school in the Church the Swedes built (her Great-Grandfather). Also what beautiful voices her parents had and that in the evenings after dinner they would spend time singing to her and her siblings, and that her parents loved playing with them, even playing baseball with them. They didn't live far from her Grandmother (Matilda Joy Lindholm) Frisk, and enjoyed spending time there. One winter memory was of their father having a big sleigh and would take them all out with the horses pulling it, riding up and down hills. She said that she and her siblings always looked forward to May 1st (their father's birthday), when they were finally allowed to go barefoot, no matter if it was still cold! So she kept that a rule with her own children, but not until their father's birthday which was May 16th. Her parents always kept them well dressed by those days' standards. What her mother didn't make was ordered by catalog. When she was 14 or 15 and they were now living in Proctor, her father came home one day with a package for the girls, with "La" Hose for them, which had just come into style. Making them the envy of their friends. Her mother died in 1924 three months after her kid sister was born, then 3 years later her dad was killed in a sawing accident. So her only brother Albert "Bud" took over caring for all of them. After she graduated High School, she went to work for the Martin Hotel as a cook, getting $5.00 dollars a week with room and board, there is where she met her sister's best friend's brother-in-law, Dorsey. He was the only boy she ever dated and they married after a courtship, on October 3, 1925, in Versailles, Morgan, Missouri. When their first born son was only about 8 months old, Dorsey went to work for the Rock Island Railroad in Versailles and they had 3 more sons there, with the 3rd child being stillborn. Working for the railroad, caused them to move a lot after that. Having their 5th son in Stover, and their 6th son in Barnett. In 1940 they were in Windsor where for a while he ran a maintenance gang that ran from Windsor to St. Louis. Keeping him from home quite a bit, but not for to long, around that time he made foreman, so they moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri to his permanent job there, and finished raising their boys. September of 1969 Dorsey retired from the Rock Island Railroad after being with them for over 30 years. With the boys all gone, they then bought a mobile home and moved to Barnett, which was close to Lake of the Ozarks, so they could go fishing as much as they wanted, with them both loving it. In 1975 her husband was diagnosed as having Leukemia. Edna was widowed on Sept. 17, 1976 after 51 years of marriage, so she sold their mobile home in Barnett and moved to a retirement center in Pleasant Hills, to be near three of their sons and grandchildren.
