Description	:	Alice Troudt, the daughter of George and Emma Troudt, was born December 29, 1871, and passed away at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, May 24, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 24 days. She came to Nelson when she was 18 years of age. She was married to George Jacoby on February 23, 1893, and to this union five children were born. Read More	Alice Troudt, the daughter of George and Emma Troudt, was born December 29, 1871, and passed away at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, May 24, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 24 days. She came to Nelson when she was 18 years of age. She was married to George Jacoby on February 23, 1893, and to this union five children were born. Outside of six months in Topeka, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Jacoby have spent their entire married life in Nelson. Shrotly after coming to Nelson, Mrs. Jacoby united with the Lutheran church. When this church dissolved its organization here, she united with the Methodist Church. She was always a loyal friend to her pastors, often entertaining them in her home. So long as her health would permit, she was faithful in attending the services of her church. When she could no longer attend she received much comfort listening to the religious radio services. Mrs. Jacoby was a home-loving woman. She was a true wife and help-mate to the one with whom she walked side by side for more than 54 years. She was a devoted mother to her children and no act of service was even given grudgingly. She was a loyal citizen and loved America, the land of her adoption, for here she found joy, happiness and peace. Mrs. Jacoby is survived by her husband, George Jacoby, and five children. They are: Mrs. H.L. Sawdey of Waldport, Oregon, Mrs. J.J. Jacoby of Clyde, Kansas, John Jacoby of Los Angeles, California, Ed Jacoby of Superior, Nebraska, and Mrs. E.E. Lockard of Hastings, Nebraska. There are two grandsons, Orval Jacoby of Topeka, Kansas, and Donald Jacoby of Superior, Nebr. Also one great grandson. One grandson preceded her in death. She also leaves six brothers and three sisters. The sisters are Mrs. Emma Schlitt of Saginaw, Michigan, Mrs. Charles Cole and Mrs. Margaret Koontz of Los Angeles, California. The brothers are: Henry of Lincoln, Nebr., Conrad of Wymore, Nebr., William of Boise, Idaho, Ed, George and John of Nelson, Nebr. There are also many relatives and friends. Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! The funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Klawitter Mortuary and were conducted by Rev. Clarence V. Powell, assisted by Mrs. Powell. Music was furnished by a quartet: Mr. and Mrs. James F. Murphy, Mrs. W.L. Portwood and J.E. Portwood, with Mrs. H.H. Hite as accompanist. The pallbearers were John Jacoby, a son-in-law, Orville Jacoby, Ed Jacoby, Earl Lockard, Donald Jacoby, and a son John Jacoby. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery.
