Description	:	Edward Pechan, 82, died at the Pocahontas Communtiy Hospital late Sunday afternoon. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Pocahontas American Legion. Surviving are the widow; daughters, Mrs. William Russell, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Jon Anderson, Rolfe; son, Ronald, Peoria, Ill; six grandchildren, and sister, Mrs Mae Sernett, Rolfe. Mr. Pechan was born near Pocahontas, and attended rural schools of that area. He married Lillian Walsh in 1935 at St. Patrick's Church in Lizard Twp. He farmed on the same farm where he had been born until 1961 when he and his wife retired and moved into Pocahontas. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Pechan served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was a member of the American Legion.
