The Rev. Hugo Welchert conducted the rites. Wagner, George Ulrich, Fred Busch, Harold Nott and Layton Shabram. Burial was made in the Hooper Cemetery. The body lay in state at Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. Mr. Stroh passed away Saturday morning at the Dodge County Community hospital in Fremont to where he was taken following a stroke that he suffered Thursday evening at his home. Previous to this fatal illness, Mr. Stroh had been in failing health for several years. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stroh, sr., he was born in Hooper on Febr. 27, 1883. He grew to manhood here, and on March 5, 1906 was united in marriage to Mathilda Schwab. Following their marriage they settled on a farm north of Hooper, which he successfully operated for may years. On retiring he and Mrs. Stroh then moved to town, among whose citizens Mr. Stroh was a highly respected resident. He made a hobby of flower raising and many Hooperites were recipients of bouquets from his gardens. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, and had served as a director on the Hooper Cemetery Board for a number of years. Surviving are his widow; two sister, Mrs. Anton Tunberg of Hooper and Mrs. Tom Cushman of Blair, and two brothers, Louis of Omaha and Alfred of Hooper. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Amelia, (Mrs. C. H. Uehling).
