Description	:	Eleanor Hornbacher, 97, Bismarck, passed away on July 24, 2012 in a Bismarck hospital. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Burial will be held at the Lamont Cemetery, rural McClusky. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Eleanor was born August 23, 1914 in McClusky, ND to Jacob and Elizabeth (Binder) Triebwasser. She grew up in the McClusky area. She married Leo L. Hornbacher on June 29, 1933. They farmed in several areas, including Denhoff, Goodrich,and Wing, until 1956 when they moved to Bismarck. Eleanor was a housewife most of her life and also babysat for many children, which she loved and cared for as if they were her own. She loved her garden, planting and tending to many different flowers, but she was particularly fond of her roses. She also loved the different birds that would "visit" her yard. She loved to embroider, cook, bake and canning. She also enjoyed doing puzzles. She walked with the Lord her whole life. She was an inspiration to her children, all her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to all who came into contact with her. Eleanor is survived by her 6 daughters and 5 sons, Vi (Violet)Kavich, Channahon, IL; Cal (Calvin) (Shirley), Bismarck; Linda Gray, Bismarck; Darlene Uhlich, Bismarck; Shirley Huss, Fargo; Donna Joyce, Cameron Park, CA; Gary, Bismarck; LeRoy (Carol), Bismarck; Gene, Menoken; Les, Bismarck; and Karen Koch, Ankleney, IA; 70 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; a daughter, Veria (Verla) Jean; her brothers, Amidon, Adolp (Adolph), William, Benny (Benjamin), Reinholt, Lee (Leo), Arthur, & Edwin; and sisters, Sally Abel (Ebel), Emaline Schacher, and Tillie(Ottelia) Jaton.
