Description	:	Additional information provided by Sharon Hesebeck Elizabeth Ann Ness, 82, of Spencer passed away Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Ruthven Care Center in Ruthven. Funeral services are scheduled today, February 17 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Tom Dettmer officiates the 10 a.m. service. Burial is at 11:30 a.m. in Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove. Elizabeth Ann Ness, the daughter of Carl and Mabel (Struck) Ness, was born May 13, 1922 in Sioux Rapids. Her childhood years were spent in Linn Grove where she received her education, graduating from Linn Grove High School. She later attended Waldorf College in Forest City and the University of Denver for two years. For many years, Elizabeth lived in Denver, Colorado, where she did secretarial work for Swedish Medical Center and later Denver General Hospital in Denver. She moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where she continued her secretarial work at N.W. Aeronautical and Northwest Airlines. In 1975, she moved to Des Moines where she worked as a secretary for Iowa Methodist Hospital, until retiring and moving to Spencer in 1990. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, where she served as chairman of her circle and was president of the Bethany Lutheran Church Women. She also served on the Church Council Committees and was involved in Stewardship and Design. Over the years, she was involved in the Professional Secretaries International and served on the national and state committees with that organization. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Merton Bob who died in infancy and Charles. She is survived by one sister in law. Lilah Ness; one niece, Victoria Ness both of Des Moines and one nephew, Byron Ness of Omaha; other relatives and friends.
