Description	:	Mrs. Eliza J. Mann, long time resident of Villisca, died at her home here Saturday morning,September 1. Funeral services were held Tuesday September 4, at 2:30 p.m. in the Sutphen Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. M. A. Robeson. The singing was by Mrs. Icle Fisher, accompanied by Mrs. H. A. Eno and the pall bearers were Earl Fisher, Roy B. Means, Harold Peters, Harold Nordyke, Harold Pickford, and Yale Wright. Flower bearers were Mrs. H. H. Nordyke and Mrs. Bertha Davie. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery beside the deceased’s husband. Mrs. Eliza J. Mann was born March 16, 1858 at Hillsboro, Ohio and was 93 years old at her death. She was a daughter of Thomas E. and Eliza Ann Greenly and was one of 12 children. She was the last member of her family. She came to Villisca in 1875 when Indians were still to be seen in this area, and in 1876 she was married to Edgar Joseph Mann. She lived here continuously from that time until her death. She was the mother of five children. They are Mrs. Hazel Gridley, Villisca; Joseph Mann, Baton Rouge, La., Nellie, who died in January 1950, Raymond who died November 1945, and Nina (Mrs. Burgenheimer) of Merrill, Iowa, who died here in 1910. Her husband preceded her in death many years, and was engaged in the grocery business and the hotel business here. Surviving Mrs. Mann being her two children are the three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Mann became a member of the Presbyterian Church, January 21, 1906, and in point of age was the oldest member of that church at the time of her death.
