Description	:	Lower, Elizabeth Morrison - The funeral of Mrs Elizabeth Lower was held last Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church at Guss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Mills of Nodaway and the remains laid to rest in the Guss cemetery. Elizabeth Morrison was born in Richland county, Ohio, on November the sixth, 1838, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs C.E. Ankeny, 8 miles north of New Market, Iowa, on September 13, 1918, being 79 years, 10 months and 7 days of age. Read More	Lower, Elizabeth Morrison - The funeral of Mrs Elizabeth Lower was held last Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church at Guss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Mills of Nodaway and the remains laid to rest in the Guss cemetery. Elizabeth Morrison was born in Richland county, Ohio, on November the sixth, 1838, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs C.E. Ankeny, 8 miles north of New Market, Iowa, on September 13, 1918, being 79 years, 10 months and 7 days of age. She was united in marriage to Frederick Lower in the year 1856; he preceding her in death about 2 years and 8 months, having died on December 23, 1915. The family came to Taylor county, in about 1869 where they since resided. She was the mother of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. The surviving children are: Mrs Belle Mackey of Villisca, Iowa, John Lower of Akron, Iowa, Harry Lower of New Market, Mrs Sidney Shipley of Nodaway and Mrs Allie Ankeny of near New Market, Iowa. Those deceased are Mrs Annie Ankeny and two boys who died in infancy. Besided her children she leaves to mourn her loss 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a host of friends. Always ready to help others especially in sickness or death she will be greatly missed. The last few weeks of her life was spent in intense suffering but she was conscious until the end came and said she was glad to go.
