Description	:	Elizabeth married William Henry Alders on September 12, 1890 in Wymore, Nebraska at St. Bridgets Church. Together, they had 5 children. Elizabeth's Granddaughter, Kathryn Alders Svoboda, shared the following stories about Elizabeth; I'd get a nickel out of the spice cabinet drawer, this was when we didn't have any cows as they got a disease and died, walk a half-mile to buy 2 half gallon syrup buckets of milk from a farmer. She had the pioneers reverence for wood, knowing all that it could mean in eking out an existence. She used to tell me... If they burned other than cow chips in their log cabin stove, it meant an overnight trip with team and wagon to a site by the river. She would tell me how wood was the basic need of each home before the arrival of winter. She never talked about her education, I wonder? Elizabeth died on March 23, 1942 at age of 76 in Lady Gray home in Beatrice, Nebraska per her obituary. She was buried March 25, 1942 in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Barneston, Nebraska, Lot 28 next to her husband, William Alders. (Funeral home was EJ Miller funeral home who shared that she was buried 3-29-1942 at St. Josephs Cemetery in Barneston, Ne. lot 28.) OBITUARY; The Weekly Arbor State Newspaper Wymore, Gage County, Nebraska dated Friday, March 27, 1942, Front Page Barneston Lady Buried Wednesday- Mrs. Elizabeth Alders, 76, one of the old time residents of the Barneston community, passed away Monday at the Lady Gray home in Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her husband just last month. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. M. R. O'Neil of Beattie, Kans., and three sons, David of Pawnee City, John of Oketo, Kans., and Andrew of Barneston. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock from the Catholic Church in Barneston with interment at the Barneston Cemetery. Services were in charge of the Miller funeral home.
