ELLA CROCKETT SUCCUMBED MONDAY Largely Attended Funeral Rites Held Wednesday Afternoon Laid To Rest In The Crisfield Cemetery Largely attended funeral services for Mrs. Ella Frances Crockett, esteemed resident of Crisfield and widow of the late George R. Crockett, were conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church with the Rev. C. M. Elderdice, pastor, assisted by Rev. J. R. Ricking, of Immanuel, Rev. J. Yancey Fincher, of the Baptist Temple and Dr. J. J. Bunting, District Superintendent, of Salisbury, officiating. In the presence of a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends and amid a profusion of flowers, tributes which marked the esteem in which the deceased was held by all, the body of Mrs. Crockett was lowered to its final resting place beside the grave of her late husband, in the Crisfield cemetery. Pall-bearers were Mr. Fred Ward, Mr. Noah T. Evans, Mr. Charles Hinman, Mr. Luther Sterling, Mr. Sidney O. Landon and Mr. William Landon. Mrs. Crockett, who was eighty-two years of age and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George B. Sterling, succumbed on Monday morning of this week at her home on Maryland avenue. For quite some time she had been in ill health but her passing, nevertheless, came as a great shock to her many friends. She had lived her entire life in this community where she was known and loved by a legion of warm friends. Many sterling traits of character were hers and she was near and dear to the hearts of all. Mrs. Crockett is survived by an only son, Clarence Crockett, of this city; a stepdaughter, Mrs. W. B. Justice, also of this city and a brother, George B. Sterling, of the Mariner's section. Four grandchildren, George Crockett, Thomas Crockett and Miss Emma Crockett, of this city, and Mr. Elswath Crockett of Elizabeth, N.J., and three great grandchildren, William, Deana and Marlene Cockett, all of this city, also survive.
