Description	:	Mrs. Roy Smith for fifty eight years a resident of Villisca, died Wednesday morning at 7:30 o’clock at her home East Fifth Street, her death resulting from a slight stroke of paralysis Friday morning. Ellen Spargur was born in Highland County, Ohio, June 15, 1865 and was 63 years old at her death. She was married to Roy Smith of Villisca on December 26, 1889 and to this union twelve children were born, eight of whom are living. She was married to Roy Smith of Villisca on December 26, 1889 and to this union twelve children were born, eight of whom are living. Besides her husband and children, she leaves the following brothers and sisters, Charles of Shenandoah, Jerry of McCook, Nebraska, Fred and Mrs. T. K. Armstrong of Mound City, Missouri, George of Clarinda, Mrs. H. J. Miller of Chula Vista, California, Mrs. Newton Spargur and Mrs Jennie Gourley of Villisca. The body was taken to the A. B. Wolfe Funeral Home to await arrangements for the funeral which had not been completed at the time The Review went to press. Interment will be in the Villisca Cemetery. Villisca Review, Friday, July 27 1928, page 5 The funeral of Mrs. Roy Smith, mention of whose death was made in last week’s Review, was held Friday afternoon of last week at 1:30 o’clock in the Methodist Church with Rev. E. S. Menoher of Corning in charge of the service. The singing was by Mrs. F. E. Shane and Miss Sylvia Enarson, with Miss Virginia Kehr at the organ and the pall bearers were Frank, William, John, Charles, and Edward Smith. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
