Spargur, for forty-five years a resident of Villisca, died at his home in the southwest part of the city Saturday afternoon at 12:45 o’clock, his death resulting from pneumonia from which he had suffered for two weeks. He was born on March 10, 1872 in Villisca and lived here all his life with the exception of two ears spent in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1909 and 1910. He was born on March 10, 1872 in Villisca and lived here all his life with the exception of two ears spent in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1909 and 1910. He was married to Miss Zula Kelly in Villisca, October 4, 1904 and to this union four children were born. They are Catherine Bernice, John Leland, Sam Layton, and Wilda Jane. Besides his wife and children, Mr. Spargur leaves also six brothers and five sisters. They are Chalres, John, Jerry, William, Mrs. R. H. Gourley, Mrs. N. W. Spargur, and Mrs. L. H. Smith of Villisca and Fred Spargur and Mrs. T. K. Armstrong of Mound City, Missouri and Mrs. J. H. Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Spargur was a member of the Masonic and the I.O.O.F. Lodges and of the Railway Conductors order. He was in the employ of the Burlington Railroad for twenty-five years, serving for twenty years as conductor on the local freight between Villisca and Napier, Missouri. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Baptist Church with Rev. W. E. Overturf of Decatur, Nebraska, formerly pastor of the Villisca Baptist Church in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. E. S. Menoher. Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were William Spargur, who is located for the summer in Kimball, Minnesota, Mrs. H. J. Miller and Mrs. Geneva Spargur of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Chas. Beaty of Glenwood, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Kelly of Red Oak, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kelly and Mrs. Mary Kelly of Clarinda, MRs.
