Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Hospice, 8540 Blue Ridge Blvd., KCMO 64138. Marie was born June 10, 1916 in Pardee, KS, to William and Christina (Tucking) Knapp. Her family lived in Nortonville, KS for a short time before moving to Atchison, KS, where Marie attended grade school and high school. She managed the Sears mail order store until she married Elbert McBride , Sr. in 1945. They moved to Kansas City and Marie was a home maker until 1953, when she went to work for the Russell Stover Co. Marie managed the store at Linwood and Forest for many years and then moved to manage the Blue Ridge Mall store and retired in 1981. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert McBride , Sr. in 1963; sons, Donald McBride in 1968 and Elbert McBride , Jr. in 2001; brother, Albert Knapp and sister, Edna Montgomery. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Smith and her husband, Gary, Harrisonville, MO; sister, Mae Scheid, Atchison, KS; grandchildren, Donald McBride , Shannon Jones (Chris), Karla Hite (Mark) and Becky Worley (Greg); seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
