Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler and Rev. Michael VanVelzer officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Condolences to the family may be left at www.beckerdyer.com. Corinne was born on January 28, 1922, in Atchison, Kansas to the late Ernest Zabel and Louise Yost Zabel. She attended Trinity Lutheran School, Atchison High School and graduated in 1944 from Mount St. Scholastica College. She taught at Doniphan County High School prior to her marriage. On June 16, 1946, Corinne married Louis Walter Reder at Christ Lutheran Church, Wathena, Kansas. She and Mr. Reder moved in 1951 to Effingham where they raised their four children on a farm southwest of town. Corinne was a homemaker and also was the director of Project Concern in Effingham. She loved her family and the Lord. Corinne enjoyed baking and had an extensive collection of cookbooks from which she loved to try new recipes. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Nortonville, Kansas where she taught Sunday School and confirmation classes. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Happy Hour Club. Corinne is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Reder, and two brothers, Richard Zabel and Carl Zabel. Survivors include one sister, Virginia Zabel, Atchison; one son, Walter (Barbara) Reder, Ft. Worth, TX; daughters, Diana (James) Hobbs, Manassas, VA; Carol (Thomas) Gregg, Effingham; Nancy (Kenneth) Young, Effingham; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Lucas, Mark Reder, Christopher Hobbs, Shawn Hobbs, Jennifer Figge, Kristin Purdy, Alison Young; thirteen great-grandchildren and a close family friend, Richard Cordero, Atchison.
