The funeral services were held Monday at St. Mary's Church and were conducted by Father McErlean. The friends of the young lady filled the church, where she was so often seen. Father McErlean's sermon was a comment on death, and contained valuable advice to every thinking Christian. Interment was made in the family lot in the St. Mary's Cemetery. In the death of Irene, our little city has every reason for the grief it feels. She was an exemplary child of whom the growing generation could have expected much in the respect and obedience with which she honored her parents, she won a lasting honor and respect for herself, and her sweet disposition endeared her to old and young alike.
