Landon, of Crisfield, Md., died at her late residence on Walnut St., Friday, Jan. 17, 1913, at two p.m., after a short but painful illness of but a few days, aged 49 years. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. L. Dow Evans, and was a woman of excellent character and possessed of those rare graces which endeared her to all who knew her. She was a faithful, painstaking wife, devoted mother, a good neighbor and made a host of friends by her kind and gentle ministrations in the homes... Read More	In Realms Of Rest Mrs. Patience Landon, wife of Mr. John H. Landon, of Crisfield, Md., died at her late residence on Walnut St., Friday, Jan. 17, 1913, at two p.m., after a short but painful illness of but a few days, aged 49 years. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. L. Dow Evans, and was a woman of excellent character and possessed of those rare graces which endeared her to all who knew her. She was a faithful, painstaking wife, devoted mother, a good neighbor and made a host of friends by her kind and gentle ministrations in the homes of sickness and sorrow, as was evidenced by the large concourse of people who attended her funeral services. In early life Mrs. Landon became a Christian and identified herself with North End Church, Smith's Island, remaining faithful in her allegiance to the Master and His Church to the end of her life. Funeral services were conducted at her late home, Sunday, Jan. 19th, at 2 p.m., by Rev. Louis Randall, pastor of the Mt. Pleasant, M. P. Church of this City, assisted by Rev. Dr. Wharton, a long time and intimate friend, and Rev. F. W. Laub, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment was made in the Crisfield cemetery where her remains shall await the morn of the resurrection. Mrs. Landon is survived by her husband, Mr. John H. Landon, an aged father, Mr. L. Dow Evans, and nine children, six sons, Messrs. Sidney 0., J. Lorenza, W. Carroll, Dewey, James and Henry; and three daughters, Mrs. John T. Sterling, Mrs. William Ward and Miss Edna Landon, and five grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. A. B. Riggin and Mrs. Abram Riggin and two brothers, Mr. J. Goodsill Evans, all of Crisfield, and Mr. Geo.
