Description	:	Miss Ella Morgan was born at Cascade, Dubuque County, IA, the child of the late Patrick and Mary Morgan. She had six brothers and one sister, all born on the same farm in Dubuque county. In the Spring of 1875, the family moved to Carroll County. They were one of the first families to till the soil in this section of the state. They bought some land west of town and did all their own improving. Read More	Miss Ella Morgan was born at Cascade, Dubuque County, IA, the child of the late Patrick and Mary Morgan. She had six brothers and one sister, all born on the same farm in Dubuque county. In the Spring of 1875, the family moved to Carroll County. They were one of the first families to till the soil in this section of the state. They bought some land west of town and did all their own improving. Miss Morgan grew to womanhood on the Morgan homestead and continued to live there until shortly after 1924, when she came to Carroll to keep house for her brother, Hugh, whose wife had died a short time before. A few years later, her brother, Charles, came to town to make his home with Ella and Hugh. Miss Morgan was the last of her family and the third to die in the last eight months. Her brother, Hugh, died May 4, 1935, and another brother, Charles, died November 35, exactly one month before Miss Morgan passed away. Her mother passed away in 1915 and her father died in 1891. Other brothers and a sister who preceded her in death were: Dan, John, Pat, James and Mary. Carroll Daily Herald, Friday, December 27, 1935 Morgan Services Will Be Monday At St. Joseph's* Body Will Remain At Gregory Funeral Home Until The Service Relatives From Mitchell, SD, Here To Attend Funeral Funeral Services for Miss Ella Morgan, who was found dead yesterday morning in her home at 213 North Adams Street, will be held at 8 o'clock Monday morning in St. Joseph church. Very Rev. P.T. Lynch will read the requiem mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The body is at the Gregory Funeral home where it will remain until time for services. Relatives who have come to attend the funeral are Mrs. W.C. Clark, Mrs. J.P. Johanna and Ed Morgan, all of Mitchell, SD. Carroll Daily Herald, Saturday, December 28, 1935. Services Held This Morning For Woman Who Was Found Dead* Final rites for Miss Ella Morgan, well-known Carroll woman who was found dead Friday morning at her home at 213 North Adams Street, were held at 9 o'clock this morning at the St. Joseph Church. Very Rev. P.T. Lynch read the requiem mass. Interment was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Gregory Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: M.L. Collison, Charles Daley, John Boyce, James Moran, P.J. Koll and George O'Donnell. *Carroll Daily Herald, Monday, December 30, 1935.
