Description	:	Additional information provided by Sharon Hesebeck Funeral services for Mrs. Millie Evans, 94, Linn Grove were held Thursday morning, February 23 at 10:00 a.m. from the Riverside Presbyterian church in Linn Grove with Rev. David Bruneau and Pastor Alfred Walck officiating. Mrs. Jerry McKeever was the organist. Pallbearers were Leonard Anderson, Don Carlson, Jack Cleveland, Herman Engebretson, Clair Pelley and Don Rehnstrom. Burial was in Barnes Township cemetery at Linn Grove with the Sliefert Funeral home of Sioux Rapids in charge of the arrangements. (Millie) Emelia Brostad Evans, was born November 7, 1883 the daughter of Carl J. and Mary Ahlstrom Brostad, at Linn Grove, Iowa. As an infant she was baptized at the Presbyterian church in Linn Grove and later renewed those vows in the Rite of Confirmation. She attended high school in Linn Grove and grew to womanhood here. On November 7, 1906 she was united in marriage to John T. Evans. To this union was born two children, Dayl and Camellia- The family lived in Linn Grove area all their married life sharing in the activities of their community and church. She was a member of the Riverside Presbyterian church and a charter member of the Linn Grove Women's club. Millie had been a resident of the St. Luke's home at Spencer and it was here that she passed away Monday evening, February, 20, 1978 at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 5 sisters and her husband John on May 23, 1943. She is survived by her daughter, Camellia and husband, George Wolcott of Lincoln, Nebraska; and her son Dayl and his wife, Catherine of Des Moines; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
