Obituary from the Hebron Journal, Nebraska, March 23, 1933: "Emily Wheeler was born Sept. 15, 1857, near Fiatt, Illinois, and moved with her parents near Delavan, Minn., where she was married to Samuel Lockwood on October 21, 1877. They moved to Essex, Iowa, where they lived until September in 1885 when the moved to Hubbell, Nebr., where she was lived ever since. They moved to Essex, Iowa, where they lived until September in 1885 when the moved to Hubbell, Nebr., where she was lived ever since. To the union five children were born, all of whom are alive: Ina and Roy, who lived with their mother; Ned of Ovid, Colo. ; Bert of Belleville, Kans. ; and Mrs. Victoria Pearson of Whitney, Nebr. She has fourteen grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Anna Gilchrist, Minn., two brothers, Menzo Wheeler of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Frederick Wheeler of Oak Harbor, Wash. Also a host of friends and other relatives. Her husband preceded her in death twenty-one years ago. She as a member of the Eastern Star lodge, and of the M. E. church. She was a faithful member of the Ladies' Aid, until failing health kept her at home, Home and family were always her first thought, but she was ever ready to help a friend, as long as health permitted. She departed this life, March 14, 1933, at the age of 75 years; 5 months and 29 days. Funeral services were held at Hubbell, on March 16th, conducted by Rev.
