The body is being returned to Fairfield for last rites and burial. Private services will be held at the Hoskins Funeral home Sunday at 2 p.m. with Dr. L.L. Weis in charge. Interment will be in the Fairfield Abbey. Emma Barr Horn was born June 1, 1903 on a farm near Richland (sic. born in Jefferson county, Iowa, per her birth record), the daughter of the late J. M. and Ada McPherson Horn. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and was graduated from Parsons College. She is survived by her mother and a brother, Ralph, who lives in Davenport. ------- Note: About this five-person monument... George Horn and his wife Laura Swan Horn were originally buried at the Fairfield Abbey Mausoleum, as were George's brother John Milton Horn and his daughter Emma Barr Horn. When the Fairfield Abbey was closed in the 1960s these Horn/Barr remains were reburied at Evergreen Cemetery in this plot. Evidently one monument was erected with inscriptions for each of these four reburials. The wife of John Milton Horn was Ada Horn and she died in 1966.
