EMMA ISADORA OREBAUGH Emma Isadora Ellis, daughter of George and Margaret Ellis, was born at Dodsonville, Highland county, Ohio, November 7, 1856, where she grew to womanhood. She departed this life Oct. 18, 1932, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 1 day. She was the oldest of four children, two of whom have preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to William A. Orebaugh on August fourth, 1872. To this union ten children were born, seven daughters and three sons: two daughters, Gertie in infancy and Mrs. Myrtle Krenkle, have preceded her in death. Surviving children are Mrs. Jesse Kimerling, Chanute, Kansas; Mr. Ed Orebaugh, Glasco; Mrs. Walter Chapman, Glasco; Mrs. W.H. McCaslin, Dodge City; Mrs. F.H. Bohannon, Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Ira Billings, Gladewater, Texas; Mr. Fred Orebaugh, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. Claude Orebaugh, Glasco. One brother, Ed Ellis, New Vienna, Ohio; twenty grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives also survive and mourn the passing of this dear one. Mrs. Orebaugh was one of the early settlers in this community, coming to Kansas in February, 1883. She was always of a cheerful disposition, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a true friend to all who knew her. She has been practically an invalid for years, and has borne her suffering most patiently. She was converted and baptized into the Methodist Church at the age of twelve years, entering the Christian Church later in life. She loved to attend services and did when possible for her to get there. The last few years she has enjoyed the devotional services over the radio so much, it was a great comfort to her.
