Mr. and Mrs. Nonnamaker left here in August on what was to be an extended trip thru the east and south, in a new car which he had fitted up with fine living quarters. When they reached relatives in Ohio, Mrs. Nonnamaker became ill and was taken to the hospital where she had been for several weeks. Last week she was operated upon for sinus trouble and a second took place later from which she never rallied. The deceased, Emma French, age 32 years, daughter of C. M. French, was born and grew to womanhood in this vicinity where she was loved by all who knew her. Besides her husband, two daughters and her father, she is survived by five sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Myrtle Martson and Mrs. Edith Johnson of Denver, Mrs. Cora Plugge, Mrs. Hazel Spangler, Miss Viola French of Arlington, Everett French of Fremont, Leslie and Clarence of Arlington and Harley of Wayne. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity and made friends with everyone she knew. She made the usual preparation in the schools that offered and was diligent in study as she was gracious in all her associations. September 6, 1917, she was united in marriage with Mr. Edward Nonnamaker and to this union were born two daughters, Weta May and Lola Lida. During the world war Mrs. Nonnamaker taught school while Mr. Nonnamaker was in the service, thus assisting in keeping the "home fires burning." For this work she made special preparation at the Fremont Normal College. Mrs. Nonnamaker was a member of a family of eleven children, nine of whom, with her devoted husband, two little daughters and her father, C.M. French, survive her untimely passing from our midst. Her sisters and brothers are: Mrs. Myrtle Marston and Mrs. Edith Johnson of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Cora Plugge, Mrs. Hazel Spangler, Leslie, Viola, and Clarence of Arlington, and Harley of Wayne. Mrs. Nonnamaker was all that could be desired as a friend and neighbor. Universally beloved because she was friendly and helpful to everyone. The entire community mourns her death and deeply sympathizes with the grief stricken family. Hers was a lovely soul. Early in life she identified herself with the church, and was always faithful to its program for the extension of the Master's kingdom. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, and her solos added richly to many a church service. Her ailment was of longer duration than anyone knew, as she always lived an uncomplaining life, and while she bore up bravely, disease fastened itself upon her. What were plans for pleasant outing and sojourn among friends and relatives, amounted to only a trip to a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where everything possible was done by skilled hands to relieve her suffering and restore her health, but all efforts proved futile. Growing steadily weaker she passed to her eternal reward last Sunday, September 28th, after the brief span of thirty-two years of earthly life, but all filled to the brim with happy useful service. Even among strangers, in a strange city and in a hospital she made friends with people who were touched by her cheerful disposition. The funeral was held from the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of the pastor, Dr. Raymond C. Swisher, Rev. J.E. Aeschbacher of Hyannis, Nebraska, made the address, and Rev. A.J. Edgar of the Methodist church assisted. The entire community almost was in attendance. Many beautiful floral offerings, the gifts of loving friends, banked the pulpit.
