She grew up in an active and loving family with eight brothers and sisters. Erma graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1939. Erma was born on Dec. 5, 1921 to Thomas G. and Martha M. Readnour in Wynnewood, Okla. She grew up in an active and loving family with eight brothers and sisters. Erma graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1939. Erma is survived by two brothers, Earl Readnour of Olathe, Kan., and Kenneth William Readnour of Wynnewood, Okla. Erma was married to Frank F. Whitehead on March 14, 1942 in Cook County, Texas. Frank F. Whitehead passed away on July 13, 1966. Erma is survived by two daughters from that marriage, Teresa A. Condit of San Antonio and Pamela S. Halladay of Cumming, Ga. Erma was married to Walter McGinnis II of El Dorado on Nov. 10, 1977 in Shawnee Mission, Kan. Erma and Walter moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1978. Walter McGinnis passed away in August 1983. Erma remained in Mesa until moving to San Antonio in 2005. Erma enjoyed and took a great interest in the Walter McGinnis family. Walter's children, Allyn McGinnis, Walter McGinnis, Jr., Polly Colaw and their families visited often. Erma established close relationships within their families and greatly enjoyed the new group of grandchildren this marriage provided. Sally Kirby of Sacramento, Calif., daughter of Frank Whitehead and Donna (Dee) Ashworth of Shawnee, Kan., daughter of Earl Readnour deserve special mention. Their love, attention and visits over the years earned a special place in Erma's heart. Erma's love of family was legendary. She enjoyed a joyous and close relationship with her brothers, sisters and their families. She was equally attached to her in-laws on the Whitehead side of the family. Erma enjoyed a special closeness with her numerous nieces and nephews in her large extended family. She was a special aunt to many, and was also a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. Erma is survived by five grandchildren: Debie (Darland) Batterson of Renton, Wash.; Diana Darland of San Antonio, Texas; Dana Darland of San Antonio, Texas; Garred Halladay of Vancouver, Wash.; and Evan Halladay of Raleigh, N.C. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Shawna Williams of Maple Valley, Wash; Joe Moll of Overland Park, Kan.; and Christy Galindo of San Antonio, Texas. Erma is also survived by seven great-great-grandchildren. Erma will be greatly missed by all of her family. She taught us to love one another, to cherish family and encouraged each of us to stay connected to one another within the family. Services will be held on Jan. 6, 2011 at 4 p.m. at Park Avenue Baptist Church in El Dorado.
