CARL EGGER FUNERAL MONDAY Died Friday After Lingering Illness Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Carl Egger who passed away at her home at 508 S. Main street, Friday afternoon, following a lingering illness. Born Esther Marguerite Eden, Feb. 3, 1913, in Monticello, she was the oldest daughter of Henry and Emma (Ahlriehs) Eden. She attended the Monticello public school and graduated with the class of 1931. She also attended the Cedar Rapids Business college. On Oct. 2, 1935, she was united in marriage to Carl Egger, also of Monticello, with the wedding at the St. John's Lutheran church by Rev. Paul T. Gutknecht. Being a member of that same church she was very active in Sunday school and other church work until recently. Mr. and Mrs. Egger became the parents of two children. Carl Thomas and Mary. Surviving are her husband, Carl; children, Carl Thomas and Mary; her mother, Mrs. Emma Eden; one sister, Mrs. Milton Tobiason (Dorothy), and one brother, Thomas J. Eden, all of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her father. Services were held Monday at the St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. R. P. Young officiating, with interment at Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers included Elmer Hanken, Frederick W. Hanken, Mahlon Seehusen, Sam P. Schuetz, Wilfred Schatz and Kenneth Ahlrichs.
