Description	:	ETHEL CAROLINE (KOESTER) BUCHER Ethel Caroline (Koester) Bucher, 95, of Falls City formerly of rural DuBois, Nebraska, was born on February 13, 1915, on a farm near DuBois, Nebraska to Fred and Alma (Heuppelsher) Koester. Ethel grew up on the family farm and attended DuBois Public School. She later graduated from DuBois High School with the class of 1934. Ethel would later continue her education while attending American School in Omaha, Nebraska. She also worked in various shops while in school in Omaha. Read More	ETHEL CAROLINE (KOESTER) BUCHER Ethel Caroline (Koester) Bucher, 95, of Falls City formerly of rural DuBois, Nebraska, was born on February 13, 1915, on a farm near DuBois, Nebraska to Fred and Alma (Heuppelsher) Koester. Ethel grew up on the family farm and attended DuBois Public School. She later graduated from DuBois High School with the class of 1934. Ethel would later continue her education while attending American School in Omaha, Nebraska. She also worked in various shops while in school in Omaha. On January 29, 1942, Ethel was united in marriage to Fred Bucher in Atchison, Kansas. To this union two daughters, Karen and Joyce, were born. The couple raised their family on a farm east of DuBois, Nebraska where they would continue to live for 58 years before moving to Falls City, Nebraska in 2001. Ethel was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bern, Kansas and later a resident of the Falls City Care Center. Ethel died at the Falls City Care Center in Falls City, Nebraska on Saturday, November 20, 2010 having reached the age of ninety-five years, nine months, and seven days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred, daughter Karen Ann Volker, sisters Lois Koester and Lavinna Hindman and a brother-in-law LeRoy Hodwalker. Ethel is survived by her daughter Joyce Richardson; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister Edna Hodwalker; son-in-law Merv Volker; and other relatives and friends.
