Dasher Laid To Rest In Oakhill Cemetery Tuesday, as the day was drawing to a close, funeral rites were held for Eugene Earling Dasher, popular young man of the community, to whom the gates of eternal life opened early Saturday morning. "Gene" , as he was better known to a host of friends, was born at Omaha on August 27, 1937 and has spent his lifetime in this community. His agreeable and friendly disposition had made him a favorite with all whom he contacted in school and the normal community life. Since commencing his school activities he has been a familiar figure in the business section, assisting a number of merchants in his vacation time as well as part time school activities. Among his associates in school, he was a popular figure, always willing to assist in any way, his friends and comrades. During his years in school, Gene was an outstanding figure in athletics in football, basketball, and track, helping make records for the Plattsmouth High School. Last summer he returned from the west coast where he spent a few months in the Pacific northwest where he was employed, taking up employment with the Union Pacific as an apprentice carman with the Union Pacific at the Omaha shops. There is surviving his passing the parents, George and Pearl Wagner Dasher, two sisters, Mrs. Wendell Peterson and Mrs. Robert James Kennedy, three brothers, Merle, Kenneth and Albert, grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Dasher, all of this city as well as several uncles and cousins. Last rites were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sattler Funeral Home, Rev. J. W. Taenzler pastor of the First Christian Church conducting the services, Mrs. Lloyd Frady was soloist and Betty Taenzler was organist. Interment was at the Oak Hill Cemetery with school day friends serving as casket bearers.
