The former Evelyn Katherine Lawrence was born July 31, 1909, in Westfield, Iowa. She was married August 15, 1928, in Akron. The couple farmed in the Westfield area until moving to Sioux City in 1952. She was a cook at St. Joseph Hospital for 10 years and served as treasurer of the Lutheran Church Women. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kenneth of Sunnyville, California; Eugene of Jefferson, South Dakota; and Robert of Spirit Lake, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs Russell (Margaret) Davis of Sloan, Iowa and Mrs. Richard (Jody) Farrington of Hardy, Kentucky; one brother, Harold of Sioux City, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
