Description	:	Lima - Evelyn Ruth O'Brien, 96, died at 3:40 a.m. Jan. 29, 2010, at her residence. She was born June 10, 1913, in Lima to James D. and Helen Nierengarten Murphy, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 12, 1937, she married Joseph A. O'Brien, who died Feb. 16, 1985. Mrs. O'Brien had been co-owner of O'Brien's Market with her husband. She was a graduate of St. Gerard Catholic High School. She was the oldest charter member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. (Erin) O'Brien, all of Lima; 15 grandchildren, Erin P. O'Brien, Morgan C. O'Brien, Ellen C. Seitz (Neil) Bourgeois, Sean T. (Michelle) Seitz, Michael G. (Jill) Seitz, Martin J. Adamian, Megan E. Adamian (Brian) Wietfeld, Joseph M. (Michelle) Graham, Brandon S. (Meagan) O'Brien, Trent A. (Cara) O'Brien, Emily L. Barnes (Al) Bagdonas, Kathleen L. Johnson, Joseph E. Barnes, Kyle P. O'Brien and Christopher J. O'Brien; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Martin J. O'Brien; a grandson, Timothy J. Graham; two brothers, Jim (Helen) and Alphonse Murphy; two sisters, Louise (Frank) Traser and Sister Helen Rita Murphy. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father Timothy F. Ferris will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, where a parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice, 770 W. North St., Lima, OH 45801; or Lima Central Catholic High School, 720 S. Cable Road, Lima, OH 45805.
