Description	:	Everett Ray Buckler was born on June 30, 1923 and passed into Glory May 30, 2017. Everett was born in Gridley, California to Cecil and Elsie Bland Buckler. When Everett was very small, his father passed away from diphtheria, leaving him and a grieving mother. Read More	Everett Ray Buckler was born on June 30, 1923 and passed into Glory May 30, 2017. Everett was born in Gridley, California to Cecil and Elsie Bland Buckler. When Everett was very small, his father passed away from diphtheria, leaving him and a grieving mother. Elsie eventually moved the two of them to Nebraska, where she became a house keeper for Jesse James Jackson, who was a grieving widower and father of four girls. The two married and blended their families. Everett left Nebraska during his high school years to return to California living in Live Oak. There he finished high school and worked seasonally picking peaches. After high school, Everett joined the Navy attaining the rank of aircraft metalsmith first class. Later, he started flight training. Shortly thereafter, when World War II ended, he discharged from the Navy and married his sweet heart, Wilma Berry. They were married for sixty-five years and were the parents of three daughters. Everett worked as a civilian Air Force logistics specialist and aviation fuel system specialist until his retirement from McClellan Air Force Base. After retiring, he returned to college, finishing his Bachelor and Master degrees, eventually earning a Doctorate of Christian Counselling degree. He ministered at Faith Christian School as teacher and principal for several years and then opened his own home school for students who had special educational needs. He also operated a Christian counselling service. Everett served at the Highlands Baptist church, now Faith Baptist Tabernacle for nearly 60 years, until he suffered a stroke in 2010. He relocated to Downey, CA to live with his daughter, Linda. He spent the next 7 years writing and publishing. Three of his books are published (search for Dr. E.R.Buckler). He was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach, the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and the National Active and Retired Federal Employee Association (NARFE). He is listed in Covington’s Who’s Who. Everett’s kind spirit and driving ambition kept him busy for nearly 94 years. Even at death’s door he was still planning what he would write about next. Everett was preceded in death by his parents and step-father; his wife, Wilma; daughter, Syliva (Sally); and son-in-law, William Webb. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Pryor (Robert) and Sambeau Webb; his three grandchildren, Roslynn Pryor, Jocelynn Pryor and Anthony Crolla, and three great- grandchildren. He is sorely missed but we know he is rejoicing in Heaven with the Savior he served for over 70 years.
