Description	:	October 31,1951 Evening Journal MRS. FLORA NICHOLSON of 309 q. Marion Ave. died at 12:45 o'clock this morning at her home following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Fri-day afternoon in the Christian Church with Rev. T. C. Polk in charge. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Flora Kephart was born Feb. 13, 1871 in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood. She was the daughter of John Henry and Margaret Ann (Easton) Kephart. On March 2, 1887 she was married to John A. Nicholson, who died Nov. 20, 1942. Mrs. Nicholson had spent her entire life in this county and had lived in Washington for 38 years. She was a member of the Christian Church,having joined the Pleasant Hill Church when young. She transferred her membership to the Washington church after moving to town. She was a regular church attender and active in church affairs. Survivors include five children: Mrs. Frank Seiler of Columbus Junction, Walter Nicholson of Washington, Mrs. Merle Proudfit of Washington, Mrs. Dale Bidwell of Chicago, George Nicholson of Lone Tree; two brothers, Charles Kephart of Washington and Robert Kephart of Des Moines; one half sister, Mrs. Ed Mayhew of Washington; one step-sister, Mrs. Delphia Rathmell of Kremlin, Okla. Also surviving are 13 grand children and 19 great grandchildren.
