She was in her yard watching a croquet game being played. A heart attack claimed her life as she sat in a chair. The daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Rockwell and two children of Des Moines, Ia., had arrived on Friday for the Labor Day holiday. They were accompanied by Anne Patterson, fiancee of the Rockwell's son. She was in her yard watching a croquet game being played. A heart attack claimed her life as she sat in a chair. The daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Rockwell and two children of Des Moines, Ia., had arrived on Friday for the Labor Day holiday. They were accompanied by Anne Patterson, fiancee of the Rockwell's son. They composed the croquet players. Services were held Tuesday forenoon, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Harold L. Snow officiating. Mrs. Dale Johnson, soloist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Blest The Tie That Binds." Mrs. Arnold Krogh was organist. Casket bearers were Mark and Scott Rockwell, David Anderson, Donald Johnson, Derald Stainaker and Paul Arterburn. Honorary bearers were: Jerry and Jeffery Arnold, Leonard Bahensky, Edward Dvoracek, R.A. Haggart, Bryan Jensen, Levi Johnson, Wm. F. Spikes, Wm. Stowell and George Zlomke. Interment was made in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Jacobsen Funeral Service. Florence N. Arnold, daughter of Thorvald and Birgitte Nelsen, was born Feb. 16, 1895 at Dannebrog, Neb. She departed this life Sept. 5, 1970 at her home at the age of 75 years, 6 months, 20 days. Florence received her early education in the Dannebrog and St. Paul area. On May 3, 1917 she was united in marriage to Ray D. Arnold at St. Paul. They subsequently made their home in Des Moines and Iowa Falls, Ia. They returned to St. Paul in 1965. Mrs. Arnold was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and the First United Presbyterian Church, St. Paul. She is survived by her husband Ray, St. Paul; one son, Max R. Arnold of Bel Air, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Helen) Rockwell, Des Moines, Ia.; two brothers, Howard E. Nelsen,, Indianapolis, Ind., and Donald E. Nelsen, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sisters, Miss Edna E. Nelsen, Mrs. N.J. (Alyce) Paul and Mrs. Elmer (Lillian) Anderson all of St. Paul; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey N. Arnold, Sydney, Australia, Jerry R. Arnold, Bel Air, Md., Mark A. Rockwell, New York City, N.Y., Scott M. Rockwell and Kimberly N. Rockwell both of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Helen.
