Description	:	ST.PAUL - Lillian N. Anderson,95, of St. Paul died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at her residence in St. Paul. Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Revel Loedy will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Mrs. Anderson was born July 9, 1908, at Dannebrog to Thorwald and Birgitte (Kjeldsen) Nelsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1979. Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Kendra Anderson of St. Paul, a daughter, Jane Anderson of St. Paul, and a sister, Alyce Paul of St. Paul. Also surviving are three grandchildren and their spouses; Brenda and Jim Garner, Paul and Regina Anderson, and John and Laurie Sokolik, and eight great-grandchildren; Carisa and Aaron Garner, Alex, Andrew, Corey and Shelby Anderson and Jack and Ellie Sokolik. Mrs. Anderson moved to St. Paul with her family at an early age. She attended St. Paul Schools where she graduated from St. Paul High School in 1926. She then attended Hastings College where she graduated with a degree in teaching. She also attended the University of Colorado for a summer. She then began teaching grade school in Cushing and then St. Paul. She was united in marriage to Elmer George Anderson on June 27, 1942, in St. Paul. The couple lived in St. Paul. The couple enjoyed traveling and taking train trips. Her husband died in 1979 and Mrs. Anderson continued to live in St. Paul. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, Nebraska football, and she served as a den leader for Cub Scouts and the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Paul, where she was active in the church and sang in the choir for a number of years. She was also a member of the Capter AP PEO of St. Paul, the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile and was active in the Jobs Daughters. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Howard and Donald Nelsen, and three sisters, Florence Arnold, Helen Nelsen and Edna Nelsen. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church or the donors choice.
