Lead Daily Call newspaper, Monday, October 9, 1922, Page 4: MISS FLORENCE WARD. Death Last Evening of an Englewood Girl After Long Illness. Miss Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ward of Englewood, died at the home of her parents last evening after an illness which had continued over six years and which for the past two months had grown in its intensity until death ensued from an affection of the heart. Miss Florence at the time of her death was 18 years 10 months and 14 days old, and during the six years which she had been a sufferer had borne her pains and her illness with fortitude and a sweet patience which had endeared her to many friends, and her death has brought sorrow and regret to many outside of the family circle. Florence Ward was born in Farmington, Iowa, and had come to the Hills with her parents while yet a baby, and for many years had made her home with them at Englewood. Hers was a sweet, gentle personality, a character which appealed for and drew friendships, and those who knew her will extend to her bereaved parents and other relatives their sympathy. Arrangements for the funeral which will be held on Wednesday next, have not been completed, and will not be until some relatives in the east can be heard from. Interment will be in the municipal cemetery in Lead.
