Rounsevell received word this morning by wire of the death of Mrs. George Ward, of Englewood, which occurred at Alliance, Nebr., Wednesday afternoon. The body arrived over the Burlington this afternoon and was taken to the Rounsevell Mortuary where it will lie in state until the hour of the funeral, Sunday afternoon at 2:30, from the Methodist church. Rev. W.E. Hartung will officiate and interment will be made in the municipal cemetery in South Lead. Mrs. Ward was born in Utica, Iowa on Dec. 25, 1875. On December 4, 1895, she was married to George E. Ward, and to this union were born six children, two of whom, Florence and William, preceded the mother in death. Besides the husband, there are left to mourn her loss five sisters and five brothers, and the four children, Mrs. H.W. Smith and Mrs. C.E. Soessner of Alliance, Neb., Mrs. A.V. Schloredt of Deadwood and Mrs. F.H. Simons of Beulah, Wyo. Mrs. Ward came to the Hills from Farmington, Iowa eighteen years ago. One brother, C.C. Huff, and wife, from Interior, and a sister, Mrs. A.R. Parsons, her son, and his wife, are here from Alliance to attend the funeral, which will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church.
