The family came to Iowa when Florence was a small child and they settled near Havelock. She was married November 13, 1890 to Charles Willard Gilchrist at Havelock. They resided in the Havelock, Laurens and Pocahontas vicinities. Mr Gilchrist preceded her in death. Mrs. Gilchrist was a charter member of the local American Legion Auxiliary unit, was a member of the O.E.S. and of the Methodist church. Survivors include four sons: Charles of Los Angeles, CA; Claude of Clearwater, FL; Willard of Spencer; and Pierre of Arnolds Park; 11 grandchildren; 42 great great grandchildren; and also some great great grandchildren.
