Connie J Buehler of Elgin officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. She grew up in the Oakdale community, and on Dec 22, 1909 was united in marriage to Julius J. Packer at Oakdale. Early in their married life, they moved to Schuyler, and later to Winslow and Hooper. Mr. Packer died Oct 23, 1942 and in 1947 Mrs. Packer moved back to Oakdale, which has since been her home. She is a member of the Methodist Church and a 60 year member of the Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include her children, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Nelson of Hooper: Mrs. Leo (Mildred) Bunnell of Glide, Oregon: Roy H. Packer of Clifton, Kansas: and Jacob Dean Packer of Fremont. Also surviving are 5 sisters, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and a son, Lloyd. April 15, 1971..........Obit in Hooper paper Mrs. Pearl Packer, 81, died at Neligh Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nelson were called to Neligh Sunday by the death of Mrs. Nelson's mother, Mrs. Pearl Packer, 81 of Oakdale. Mrs. Packer was a patient in a Neligh hospital after suffering a stroke. The Nelsons had visited her Saturday, and found her getting along quite well. Her death came after another stroke.
