Read More	Son of Rena Exie Davis Timson (1897 KS-1968 OR) ------------------------------------------ Floyd Dwight Timson was born April 2, 1920 to Joseph Paul and Rena Exie (Davis) Timson on a farm near Loup City, NE and passed away June 20, 2005 at Tabor Manor Care Center at Tabor, IA at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 18 days. His family moved to the town of Loup City when he was five years old. Floyd attended country school and Loup City High School until the 10th grade. He then went to work for the Civil Conservation Camp in Halsey, NE. In the fall of 1941, he came to Iowa looking for employment. He picked corn for several farmers, then found a steady job working for Warren Gregory, a farmer and cattle feeder who lived near Tabor. Floyd married Cecelia Lavonne “Bonnie” Holmes of Ravenna, NE on April 13, 1942 in Ord, NE. They made their first home in Tabor, IA. To this union were born three children: Lois, Kenneth, and Norma. In the fall of 1943, Floyd and Bonnie moved to a farm near Hastings, IA, Floyd working for J. F. Wearin, Jr., who also farmed and fed cattle. In the spring of 1946, they moved to the Newell Crink farm south of Malvern, IA. Floyd then started working as caretaker of the Malvern Cemetery and custodian of the Malvern Community Building. In the fall of 1952, they moved to the J. F. Wearin, Jr. farm where they lived until July of 1963 when they moved to Henderson, IA. Floyd started working for the Henderson school, including bus driving, bus maintenance and building custodian. The Henderson school closed in 1971. He then drove a school bus and maintained buses for Nishna Valley School until he retired in 1993. Floyd was a familiar face in the eastern Mills County communities where he frequented the restaurants. He often pulled a lawn chair from his car allowing him comfortable seating while observing the local activities. Floyd continued to live in Henderson until moving to the Tabor Manor in February of 2003. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, brothers Gerald Timson and Carl Timson, sister Exie Palser, and daughter Norma. Floyd is survived by his daughter, Lois McMullen and her husband, Leonard, of Silver City, IA; son, Kenneth Timson, and wife, Donna, of Mebane, NC; son-in-law, Maynard Roberson, of Henderson; sister, Dorothy Evenoff, and husband, Leo, of Wheatland, MO, and sister-in-law, Mary Timson, of Castro Valley, CA; eleven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and many friends.
