West Point, Va., May 14 - Forrest Leigh, a well-known and popular salesman, connected with the West Point Grocery Company, was killed in an automobile accident about two miles from Lester Manor this afternoon at 12:30 o'clock. The automobile overturned and Mr. Leigh's neck was broken. The automobile was driven by Robert Fleet, the other passengers being W. F. Hayes, J. J. Moore and Walter Fleet. Neither of these were seriously injured. The party was going from West Point to Lester Manor, after church services. They were not driving at an excessive speed, and were enjoying the beautiful spring weather. Mr. Leigh sat in the rear, and at the time of the accident was talking to Robert Fleet. Beautiful foliage along the roadside attracted the attention of the tourists, and as they approached and especially attractive piece of shrubbery, Mr. Leigh called the attention of the driver. Then it was that the car veered over against an embankment and upset. Mr. Leigh was caught beneath the car. He died in a few minutes. The other passengers were more or less bruised, but none of them was seriously hurt. The body of Mr. Leigh was brought to West Point and prepared for burial. The funeral will be at Shackelford's, King and Queen County, tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Leigh leaves his wife and three children, two sons and a daughter.
