Medinger, 68, died of a heart attack at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of her son, Clyde, where she had made her home for the past few months. Funeral rites will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic church, followed by burial in the Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Roch Hettinger, O.F.M. will officiate. Medinger Dies; Funeral Services Monday - Mrs. L. J. Medinger, 68, died of a heart attack at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of her son, Clyde, where she had made her home for the past few months. The body will lie in state at the Gass funeral chapel after 1 p.m. Sunday until time of the funeral, and rosary will be prayed there Sunday at 8 p.m. Nee Frances Ann Pelican, daughter of Joe and Mary Sokoup Pelican, Mrs. Medinger was born July 17, 1881 at Bruno [sic], Austria. She came to the United States with her parents when she was three, and they made their home at Hemingford. After her marriage to L. J. Medinger on Nov. 27, 1902 at David City, she and her husband farmed at Shelby and David City until 1930 when they moved to a farm east of Columbus. Mr. Medinger preceded her in death in 1943. Surviving her are a son, Clyde, and one daughter, Mrs. Violet Rice, both of Columbus, four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Paul Witkowski of Omaha, and a brother, Alfred Pelican of Delano, Cal. Besides her husband, Mrs. Medinger was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and a brother.
