Bartley, who was born and raised in Fort Benton, passed away at a hospital in Rochester, Minn., last Wednesday. He had suffered a hemorrhage earlier and was taken to the Mayo Clinic by his brother, Charles, but failed to respond to treatment. Bartley, who was born and raised in Fort Benton, passed away at a hospital in Rochester, Minn., last Wednesday. He had suffered a hemorrhage earlier and was taken to the Mayo Clinic by his brother, Charles, but failed to respond to treatment. His remains were returned to Great Falls Friday evening and funeral services were held in this city at Immaculate Conception church at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial was made in the family plot in Riverside cemetery. Frank P. Bartley was born in Fort Benton on July 2, 1900, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Bartley, pioneer Fort Benton residents. He graduated from the Gonzaga High School at Spokane and for several years was employed as a bookkeeper in the old T. C. Power & Bro store in this city. He was united in marriage to Amy Petich, of Geyser, on Nov. 11, 1922, and continued to reside in this city. He was appointed postmaster at Fort Benton in 1933 and served until he resigned in 1936 on account of ill health. For the past ten years he has been employed by the state highway department, living in Shelby the past six years. He was a member of the Fort Benton post of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife and son, Thomas Charles; three brothers, John A. Bartley, New York City, and Charles E. and James M., both of Great Falls; and an aunt, Mrs. Margaret Egan, of Stanford; and other relatives and many friends. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement.
