He came to Nebraska, Antelope county, in February, 1888, and he was married to Miss Minnie Hunter at St. Clair in that county, September 25, 1890. Read More	TATRO, FRANK CLIFFORD — Frank Clifford Tatro was born at Clearmont, Ia., December 24, 1867. His early childhood and youth were spent at Castaila, Ia. He came to Nebraska, Antelope county, in February, 1888, and he was married to Miss Minnie Hunter at St. Clair in that county, September 25, 1890. In February, 1900, Mr. and Mrs. Tatro came to Fillmore county, settling on the farm three miles north and one mile east of Geneva, where they lived until retiring from the farm in January, 1934, when they moved to Geneva, where they have since resided. Though leaving the farm, Mr. Tatro maintained his interest in the farm and frequently went there, especially at busy times, to assist his sons, Duane and Don, with their work. It was on one of these occasions, Monday, June 20, while cultivating corn that he met with a tragic accident that resulted in his death at a Lincoln hospital June 21, 1938, at the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 28 days. Mr. Tatro was a very active man and was considered one of the best farmers in the county. He acquired a state-wide reputation as a breeder of purebred stock in which enterprise he took more interest than in farming itself. He nearly always had showings at the county and state fairs and brought home many prizes. In addition to looking well to his own affairs, he found time to share in the responsibilities of community affairs. For many years he served on the district board of education and at the time of his death was active in the affairs of the taxpayers' league and the Farmers mutual Insurance Company. He was a lover of trees and flowers, and took great interest in their culture. Most of the flowers in evidence at his funeral were from the garden of Mrs. Tatro and himself. He was a lover of young people, especially boys and young men, many of whom in addition to his own sons and daughters sought his advice and companionship. He was a home lover and nothing brought him greater joy than to be surrounded with members of his family at his home. He was a lover of music and in earlier life; his voice was often heard in church choirs and elsewhere. The songs used at his funeral, "Life Railway" and "Abide With me," were special favorites of his. He was always ready to extend a helping hand and lived for those about him, especially for the members of his family. It was his interest in the welfare of his sons that carried him to the farm the afternoon on which he met with the accident that terminated his life. He was baptized and united with the Baptist church at St. Clair, Neb., April 9, 1893, and upon moving to this community transferred his membership to the Geneva Methodist church Octobery15, 1922, during the pastorate of Rev. R. H. Thompson. Remaining with Mrs. Tatro to cherish his memory are the two daughters, Rosella (Mrs. Harry Ward) and Donna (Mrs. Cecil Richards), and two sons, Duane and Don. One daughter, Dorothy, (Mrs. Glen Richards) passed away May 9, 1935. Surviving also are fourteen grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters. The funeral will take place this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. at the Geneva Methodist church. The pastor, Rev. W. H. Shoaf, will officiate. The interment will be in the Geneva cemetery.
