Description	:	SERVICES HELD FOR FRANK J. CHIPPS MONDAY Funeral services for Frank J. Chipps, 79, were held Monday, March 14 at 2 p.m., at the Steel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gail Dunning officiating. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Castile, a duet, singing "We Shall Gather At The River" and Mrs. Castile singing "I'll Not Be Crossing Jordan Alone", with Mrs. Reuben Cook at the piano. Pallbearers were Claude Sayers, Delbert Burton, Garfield Jones, Ray Kuhn, Earl Bly and Fred Robinson. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery with Steele Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Frank J. Chipps was born in New Hampton, Mo., November 7, 1875 and passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Loup City on March 11, 1955 at the age of 79 years, four months and four days. At the age of 15 years he moved with his parents from Kansas to a farm 12 miles southwest of Litchfield. On April 17, 1900 he was united in marriage to Emma Eckhout and to this union was born one son, Paul. In 1910 he united with the Christian Church at Litchfield. He lived in and around Litchfield and Pleasanton for 53 years of which 25 years were spent farming and 28 years in business and retirement. In August, 1953, he moved with his wife to Loup City, but his health had been very poor for the last four years. Surviving him are his wife, Emma; one son, Paul E. Chipps of Loup City; one grandson, Royce J. Chipps; one great granddaughter, Charlene; and one sister, Mrs. Della Hockett of Miles City, Montana. He also leaves to mourn many relatives and a host of friends. Those from out-of-town attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Hackett, Miles City, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Hackett, Gillette, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kroeger, Litchfield; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Carmen and Bill, Kearney; Mrs. Lula Eckhout, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Chipps, Broken Bow; Mr. and Mrs. Francis VanSkike, Scotia; Mr. and Mrs. Dell Brown, Ravenna; Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, Riverdale; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brown and sons, Sweetwater; and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Eckhout, Amherst.
