Mr. Raper had been suffering from a heart ailment for many months but because he kept active and at his duties at the store, few of his friends realized how serious his condition might be. Rev. O.S. Hesseltine and Mrs. Raper had gone to Excelsior Springs last Thursday to see Mr. Raper, and Mrs. Raper had remained there to be with her husband and so was with him when the end came. His son, C.A. Raper had gone this week to Columbia, Missouri, to see the latter's daughter Sadie Vergene, who is attending school at Columbia, and was not yet home when the word came of his father's death. Mr. Frank Raper was the senior member of the firm of Raper & Son, grocers of this place, and had been a resident of this community and particularly to the town of Casey. Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from his late home in Casey. HALL OF CASEY LODGE Independent Order of Odd Fellows No. 256 Casey, Iowa, May 31, 1934 IN LOVING MEMORY OF BROTHER FRANK RAPER Once again a Brother Odd Fellow has crossed the silent river to join the loved ones gone before; Has passed through the portals of eternity entered the Grand Lodge above, and received the welcome plaudits, well done good and faithful servant enter into the joys of the Lord, And WHEREAS, the all Wise and Merciful Grand Master of the Universe has called from labor our esteemed and respected Brother a true and faithful member of our Beloved Order; Therefore be it resolved that the charter of this lodge in testimony of our loss, be draped in mourning for thirty days, and that we tender to the dear ones left behind by our deceased Brother, our sincere condolence in their deep affliction, and that a copy of these resolutions be sent to them and also a copy to the Casey Vindicator and a copy be spread on the minutes of this Lodge.
